Student Radio Career Bryan has been involved with the Ohio State student radio since coming to OSU in the fall of 2005. DeArdo has done color and play-by-play work, as well as the weekly show "Bucks on Bucks." The one show Bryan is most proud of is his work with Josh on the "Tough Guy" radio show, which began during the 2006 football season. DeArdo also writes for the Lantern, and is working for Notre Dame's main athletic website (www.und.com) in the summer of 2007. Before Coming to Ohio State DeArdo was a
runner with captain Gavin Blair on the 2002 Pickerington High School
cross country team (school split the ensuing year, now called Pickerington
High School Central) that placed 9th in the state. Also ran track,
earning Top 10 OCC honors in the mile his senior year. Also tried
football, but size (see hight and weight) caused him to try non-contact
sports. Also was a member of the Marching Tigers, who marched in the
Orange, Fiesta, and the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in 2001. Also
wrote for school paper (Insights), and worked on the TV Station, WPIC.
Ran in several sanctioned NCAA meets in college, including the 2005
About Bryan: Dad Carmen and Mom Mickey are from the great city of Pittsburgh, but now reside in Pickerington. Sisters Emily (works in Ohio Statehouse) and Melanie (attends Pickerington North High School) also reside in Pickerington. Favorite sport besides running is football. Favorite sports team without question are the Super Bowl XL Champions, the Pittsburgh Steelers. Sports specialty is Super Bowl knowledge. Ambitions are to work in journalism/broadcasting for a few years, then become a high school teacher and cross country coach. |
